The Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED or “the University”) public website, the University’s Digital Office Communication Services (DOCS) and the Northeast Ohio Medical University Foundation’s (the Foundation) online services are the sole properties of Northeast Ohio Medical University. Any personal information provided to the University or the Foundation via these sites will be for the use of the University or the Foundation only. The University and the Foundation do not sell, trade, rent or supply your personal information to any external party except (1) where required by law, (2) in the case of continuing professional education where partnerships exist between NEOMED and select third party organizations, and (3) where exchange is required in order to provide a service desired by the user (e.g. processing web-based payments).

By using any of these websites or web services, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in this statement.

Protection of Your Personal Information on the NEOMED Public Website

As a visitor to the NEOMED public website, you can engage in many activities without providing any personal information. In connection with other activities, you may be asked to provide certain information about yourself by filling out and submitting an online form. It is completely optional for you to engage in these activities. If you elect to engage in these activities, however, you may be asked to provide personal information such as your name, mailing address, email address, employer, job title, telephone number, and so on. Any information you provide in connection with requests for information in the way of surveys and registrations on the NEOMED public website, unless expressly stated as a secured web page, is transmitted by email and is not secure.

Any forms which request online payment are secured. NEOMED uses a security certificate. Depending upon the activity, some of the information that we ask you to provide is identified as required and some as voluntary. If you do not provide required information with respect to a particular activity, you will not be able to engage in that activity.

Protection of Your Personal Information on the University Intranet (DOCS)

Personal information that is displayed on login to NEOMED DOCS is secure. This information is protected in two major ways:

  • Access to NEOMED DOCS is available only through the use of a password and ID. This password is encrypted. We recommend that you do not divulge your password to anyone nor leave your workstation unattended after logging into the system.
  • Information submitted through the portal to Banner (NEOMED’s university-wide database) resides on a secure server at NEOMED and only selected administrators have access to these secure servers.

Information submitted through surveys and registrations is transmitted by email and, unless expressly stated, is not secure.

Please note that any information you post in NEOMED DOCS within a group is available to all persons accessing the group. Access to NEOMED DOCS requires a Banner account.

Protection of Your Personal Information within the Foundation’s Constituent Services Portal

Personal information that is displayed on login to the Foundation’s constituent services portal
(giving.neomed.edu) is secure. This information is protected in several ways:

  • Access to the Foundation’s constituent services portal is available through a password and ID. This password is encrypted. We recommend that you do not divulge your password to anyone nor leave your workstation unattended after logging into the system.
  • Information submitted through the constituent services portal is stored on secure servers provided by Blackbaud. Blackbaud boasts world class information security measures that employ system monitoring twenty-four hours a day, every day of the year.
  • Information that is downloaded from Blackbaud’s servers to The Raiser’s Edge (the Foundation’s database) is transmitted and stored securely. Only selected administrators have access to these secure servers.
  • Information that is transmitted to third parties for certain services (e.g. credit card processing) is sent securely. Credit card information is handled by Payment card Industry -compliant systems.

Access to the Foundation’s constituent services portal requires the creation of an account. This account
is separate from any NEOMED DOCS account that the user may have.
